African Queen

The tutorial by Jimmy Boatright was in the Bead & Button Magazine from February 2017.

It is easy to follow the pattern but the mentioned amount for the main colour is not correct.

Constellation Pendant

By Cathy Andrews, you can find the tutorial in Beadwork-Magazine December 2017. My ladies here call it a “Fish”, for me it is more a medal.

The pendant is now waiting for its crochet rope.

Crochet Ropes

After a long time, I decided to crochet again. Both patterns can be found Pinterest.

The necklaces are made with seed beads 15°.

Rose of Sharon

This brooch was also designed for the world tour.

It is made in Herringbone-technique, which needs a bit of patience but during those days at sea, time was not a problem.

Set "Aroha"

Finally, it is time to follow up on my last cruise.

I had the opportunity to accompany the “AIDAcara“ on a part of its world tour. My part brought me from San Antonio in Chile over the Easter Island, Tahiti, Bora Bora and New Zeeland to Sydney. If you take a look at the route, you will see, that we passed a lot of time at sea.

Therefore, I prepared a lot of projects, some needing a lot of time like the “Double Oglala”.
One of the special projects is the set “Aroha“. The name is a word of the Maori and means “Love“.

Because we were travelling shortly before Christmas, I thought, that something sparkling was the right idea. So, I bezeled Rivolis of different sizes with peanut-beads.

Sadly, my design was not as liked as I thought. They liked the earrings and the chain of the necklace but not the pendant.

Petite Couronne Pendant

It doesn’t happen very often now, but when I opened the last issue of Beadwork-Magazine and saw this pendant, I knew, I had to bead it.

Once again it’s a brilliant pattern by Alice Coelho.
